Beautiful Crochet Scarf with Buttons

Beautiful Crochet Scarf with Buttons

Last year I purchased a crochet pattern on Etsy for this beautiful scarf with buttons.

I don’t often purchase patterns because there are so many free ones online but every now and then I see something so cute I can’t pass it up. I don’t regret the purchase for a second. In fact, it was dirt cheap considering the quality of the finished scarf.

The pattern is clearly written and prints out in a nice sized font so it’s easy to read. I didn’t find any errors in the instructions, that I recall. In fact, I remember thinking that this was going way more smoothly than many other projects I’ve attempted.

I was worried that joining the straps and attaching the buttons would be challenging but that also went really well.

I did not use the recommended yarn. Instead, I did the scarf in Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick in Oatmeal.

Besides the fact that I love the combination of stitches that give it a lightly ribbed look and some texture, the buttons make the scarf absolutely adorable AND functional.

I don’t look good in large, bulky scarves but I really wanted something that would keep my neck warm in the winter. I also hate fighting a scarf that is slipping around my neck or coming loose.

There are none of those issues with this one! It’s a great length – not too bulky and not too long. The buttons keep the scarf perfectly in place at all times.

By switching up the color of the yarn and the color of the buttons you can come up with a wide variety of looks that would work for anyone in your family – both men and women.

I’ve made a lot of scarves but mostly because they’re an easy project that’s great for beginners. I used them for practicing my stitches and for learning new ones. This is the first scarf I made that I’ve worn regularly.

This is my go-to piece of winter gear as soon as the temperatures start to drop.

If you’ve been looking for a crochet scarf pattern that is modern, functional, pretty, and not your standard long rectangle shape, go for this one. You’ll love it!
